The Psychic Detective
and the stagetruck!
2007 was an exciting year for
benchtours. We were very busy over the summer constructing
our very own mobile touring theatre - the stagetruck.
We then created the surreal
world of the Psychic Detective in our purpose built mobile
auditorium and toured it across the UK. We visited the National
theatre in London, the Highlands of Scotland and took in
the Edinburgh International Fringe in between!

YellowHouse
In 2007 benchtours also
presented YellowHouse, which was the result of a
three month residence by the musician and composer, Robin
Mason, with groups from Port Seton and Tynebank Resource
Centres. Yellowhouse also featured the text of poet
Colin Donati. Colin and Robin imalgamated the poetry and
music to conjur up a fantastical world for everyone involved.
Yellow House was the
third and final residency of the pARTners programme,
which also included The Colour Maze with designer
Iain Halket and a highly innovative video project undertaken
by artist George Borwn who worked with clients from the
mental health unit at Tynepark.
This was a remarkable project
driven by extraordinary application, imagination and amazing
humour.
